...there was the wacky fauna of Kurt Halbritter: monsterbrains.blogspot.de/2008…
And the tradition of odd hybrids and chimera even goes far more waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the history of Art. The creature design of today is just a standardized copy of the medieval monsters. The less idea of reality one has, the more own ideas has s/he.

Closed for despair
dA is for diseAse, I'm trapped in Fan Art, the lowest form of creativity. As long as I have no own ideas again, this account is even more obsolete, dA is the next MySpace already. The internet itself is Atlantis, but crowded by egomaniacs, not worth its possibilities. Enjoy your illusions, I'm off.
The Art of Dating
Who asked for it? It is this new feature: http://www.deviantart.com/deviantheart/?utm_source=deviantart&utm_medium=header&utm_campaign=040113_MKT_deviantHEART
Who in Hell needs that? Especially when you find out that your answers don't matter, your match is always the same. I would call that randomly forced marriage for the retarded, compareable with X-Ray Specs...
The 1st of April is over over here, it was the dA April fool, of course. But a funny one? Not really, beside the many real crap features it was suggestive, it suggested that your "match" is interested in dating. I'm sure there was a lot of nasty trouble with simple minded Romeos.
Flicker me, dammit!
Well, it's not an online voting, but clicks can't harm: http://www.flickr.com/photos/macsd/8069689302/in/set-72157631726973413
Contest with a longer judging than the entry period are odd.
Crowdsourcing is for the colourblind
The result of another logo crowdsourcing: http://files.crowdspring.com/entry/5305178.800x800.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJW6JEGSKDSNWYXSQ&Expires=1355616000&Signature=LYNYTHV%2Fw2qalGasi1q34%2F3FIok%3D
The customer had $1.500, but obviously (beside most bad manners) no idea of logo design. Even it matches the subject "Diversity", this is a total anti-logo. The graphic mark is none, but a typographic image which breaks the golden rule "easy perception" because it's based on a colour perception test: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_perception_test
Stress for the eye on the monitor already, but imagine the problems with printing. At small sizes
